FinLek is a financial and consumer comparison platform operated by Revido LLC, located at 2106 House Ave Suite 383, Cheyenne, WY 82001, USA. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information with care.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use our platform at finlek.com.

Phone number: When you create an account, we collect your phone number for authentication via one-time password (OTP) verification.

Usage data: We collect information about how you interact with the platform, including pages visited, comparisons made, calculator inputs, and AI assistant conversations.

Preferences: We store your theme preference (dark or light mode) and language preference locally on your device using browser localStorage.

AI assistant data: If you use the AI assistant, your conversation messages are stored to provide context and improve responses.

We use the information we collect to: provide and maintain our financial comparison service; authenticate your identity and secure your account; save your comparisons, alerts, and preferences; improve the platform experience and functionality; and generate anonymous, aggregated usage statistics.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database platform hosted in the EU (eu-west-1 region). All data is protected by Row Level Security (RLS) policies, ensuring that users can only access their own personal data.

We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest.

FinLek uses browser localStorage to store your theme preference (under the key "finlek-theme"), language preference, and cookie consent preference. These are not cookies and are not transmitted to our servers.

We use essential session cookies for authentication purposes. We do not use advertising cookies.

We use PostHog, a product analytics platform, to understand how users interact with our platform. If you accept cookies via our consent banner, PostHog stores a cookie to identify returning visitors. If you decline cookies, PostHog operates in anonymous mode using in-memory storage only, without setting any cookies or tracking identifiable information. You can change your cookie preference at any time by clearing your browser localStorage.

PostHog also records anonymous session replays to help us understand how users navigate the platform and identify usability issues. In anonymous mode (cookies declined), all text content and form inputs are fully masked in recordings — no readable text, personal data, or financial information is captured. With cookies accepted, form inputs remain masked but page text is visible. Session replays are processed under our legitimate interest in improving the platform (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). You may opt out of session recording by declining cookies via the consent banner.

We use the following third-party services to operate the platform:

Supabase: Provides our database, authentication, and backend infrastructure. Your account data and comparisons are stored in Supabase. Their privacy policy is available on their website.

OpenRouter: Powers our AI assistant feature. Conversations with the AI assistant may be processed by OpenRouter and their AI model providers. We recommend not sharing sensitive personal or financial information in assistant conversations.

PostHog: Provides product analytics to help us understand platform usage and improve the user experience. When cookies are accepted, PostHog collects anonymized usage data including pages visited, features used, and general interaction patterns. No personal financial data is collected. PostHog's privacy policy is available on their website.

Unsplash: Blog article cover images may be served from Unsplash (images.unsplash.com). When you view a blog post with a cover image, your browser connects directly to Unsplash's servers to load the image. Unsplash may receive your IP address and browser information as part of this request. Unsplash's privacy policy is available on their website.

We retain your account data for as long as your account remains active. Conversation data with the AI assistant is retained for the duration of your session and account activity.

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

You have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate data; request deletion of your personal data; withdraw consent for data processing at any time; and receive a copy of your data in a portable format.

FinLek is not directed at individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and may notify you through the platform. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
